EYFS

There are always lots of questions when a child starts at school and whilst they are with us in EYFS.  None are too small or too silly.  We think it is much better to speak to you.  Therefore, if you do have a question or a query, please come along on to one of our open days where staff we be available to ask or speak to our class teachers at the end of the day.

A message from the staff

Our Reception is a creative, fun and warm environment where your child will explore and learn.  Learning new skills is important in Reception and this is achieved through our continuous provision and child initiated activities.  We support the children to develop language skills, friendships, follow structures and routines allowing them to develop the skills to become independent active learners.

Please Note:

Children join the Reception class at the beginning of the school year in which they are five (children born on and between 1st September 2020 and 31st August 2021 would normally join in September 2025). If you are an Essex resident you must apply for your child’s school place via Essex County Council’s website. The online application system will open on 10th November 2025 and the closing date for applications is 15th January 2026. Offers of places will be sent on 16th April 2026. Once a child has been offered a place in one of our Reception classes, parents are invited to transition meetings at the school. All applications can be made online via www.essex.gov.uk/admissions

All of the application information is available on the website above.
