Curriculum
Our Felmore, learners and our Felmore, community are at the heart of everything we do. Our vision is to empower our Felmore learners to have aspirational educational and life goals and to give them the skills, knowledge and passion for learning that will enable them to fulfil these goals.
At Felmore Primary School, our curriculum is bespoke to our learners. We learn about our school community, the challenges it faces and the needs that it has and we work to deliver a curriculum that meets these needs and challenges. Our learning opportunities are diverse, formal and informal and are mindful of pupil need, pupil experience as well as the local, national and global contexts.
Simply put, the vision we have for our curriculum and our learning opportunities aims to give our, unique, community the tools that it needs to succeed in the short, medium and long term and in an educational and life context.
How do we work towards this vision?
In order to be successful, we know that we have to consistently revisit and re-evaluate our curriculum provision in the context of how successful we have been at achieving our vision, meeting our learning community's needs as well as the needs of the wider community we serve. This is an ongoing element of our work.
We use the Learning Means the World curriculum (please see link below) which is used as a vehicle to deliver an exciting, immersive and challenge learning experience. We want to inspire and empower pupils' hearts as well as their minds.
In addition, we use Pearson's Phonics and White Rose Maths, the Essex SACRE scheme of work for RE and an individually tailored PE curriculum which is based on the National Curriculum as a basis for our learning.
