Reception 2024

We are looking forward to welcoming our new Reception intake in September 2024.

There are always lots of questions when a child starts at school.  None are too small or too silly.  We think it is much better to speak to you.  Therefore, if you do have a question or a query, please come along on to one of our open days where staff we be available to ask.

Reception 2024 - a message from the staff

Our Reception is a creative, fun and warm environment where your child will explore and learn.  Learning new skills is important in Reception and this is achieved through our continuous provision and child initiated activities.  We support the children to develop language skills, friendships, follow structures and routines allowing them to develop the skills to become independent active learners.

Please Note:

 As you may be aware, the primary school (Reception) admission round opened on Monday 6 November 2023, for parents of children to apply for a Reception school place for the academic year that starts in September 2024.

The statutory national closing date for applications is 15 January 2024.

From 6 November 2023, applications can be made online via www.essex.gov.uk/admissions. 99% of parents in Essex applied online last year.
