Hello and welcome back to an exciting new school year.
We will have a new learning focus based on our new curriculum – Dimensions. Our learning will be cross curricular and theme based.
Our first theme is Mission Control.
Please find attached our What I Should Know (WhISK) sheet; on here you will find what our learning will be focused on.
Our homework will be based on key skills and the WhISK sheet.
Practise all times tables facts up to 12x12 including division facts. Make sure you know them off by heart and can answer questions even if they include decimals, such as 0.7 x 8 = 5.6; and multiples of 10 eg 70 x 8 = 560.
Read every day - this can be a book from home, school or online; fiction or non-fiction. Remember to record this in your reading diary.
Use the WhISK sheet to broaden your understanding of our Mission Control theme. You could make a replica of the solar system, research a planet of your choice, write a poem about one of the planets, create a mnemonic of names of the planets and their order from the sun or bake some space themed biscuits.
Please continue to use a range of techniques to help you learn the spellings from the year 3/4 and 5/6 spelling list.
You can also use www.spellingframe.co.uk to help you.
